Language: "Fighting!!"
Ever take for granted the way you talk, until someone you're talking to says "What the crap did you just say......??????"
Over here, I guess the thing that I constantly have to scratch my ass about, and have a good laugh~ is when someone pulls off Konglish on me.
Korean + English = Konglish.
One of the more popular words/phrases among younger people is the term "FIGHTING".
What it really means is "You can do it", "Be strong" or simply...... "Be happy". Since there is no distinction between F and P in the Korean alphabet "ㅍ", they pronounce it as pa-ee-ting (파이팅). Sometimes, it could even sound like whi-ting, depending on the local accent.
On the weekend, a lady friend RK was out late with us at Elvis, and it sorta got her into trouble. Regardless of whether she's in her late twenties (ehem~), she still has a 12am curfew on weekends.
Anyway, we chatted the next morning on MSN to see what the deal was, and I guess she really needed the encouragement......
