PMS: Work permit...

I'm always an advocate of 'Doing the right thing'. This includes applying for work permits when you go to a foreign country for employment.

But this is just stupid because...

I NEED A WORK PERMIT

... while I am Malaysian, on Malaysian soil, working with Malaysian contractors, and building a power plant for my own country ~ Malaysia!

Fine... so there is the East-West Malaysian issue going on, hence the permit to limit West Malaysians, i.e.: ME, working here.

*I am from Kuala Lumpur (West - Peninsula), in Kota Kinabalu (East - Borneo island).

From what I gather, East Malaysians feel that the West is out here to take their resources, and out to stop the progress of their people... yadi yadi yada. It's understandable that the Easties are pissed, because some of the key businesses over here are apparently, dominated by Westies. But this is still SO stupid... Pretty Much Senseless (PMS)!

It's kinda ironic, with the number of illegal immigrants that are running amok in Sabah.

Bizzare.

Is the west of Malaysia much more affluent than the east? Are the two divided by ethnicity? Inquiring minds want to know.

just to clarify the comment made by hteekay:

"in the beginning borneo wasn't a part of malaysia, so the permit issue started from that."

Actually, Borneo wasn't a part of Tanah Melayu (not Malaysia).

Malaysia was formed after Sabah & Sarawak(and also S'pore, but that's a different story altogether) joined Tanah Melayu.

Just my 2 cents..

Hi. Nice to see your internet again. Your internet is more good then other because you care for the problem the localhe people facing. I see the other internet they only talk about foods in Sabah, enjoy the island in Sabah, show beautyfull girls of Sabah. Because they can not find this things in KL.

Yes Sabah is beautiful and happy to live in. So this make the problem to Sabah now because every one want to come to live in Sabah. KL people, Indonesia people, Philipin people all like to come to our lanf to have happy life,

Now more interesting, the China people also coming now.

My friend has one daughter work in KK for bringing Chinese torist around. She say the people from China like more of Sabah that we Malaysia people. She say the people from China LOVE Sabah because they can not find this type of peace and big land to live.

I think if we give work permit to them, many many of them will come to live here. So now I more worry. So now I more happy with our Imigrasion for their protection of Sabah. If Imigrasion give work permit to this Chinese people, Sabah has more problem. We people lost our job and KL people also lost job. Because the China are more claver and hard working that the KL people.

So I think every one agree to me that Sabah Imigrasion is doing good job to protect we people and also protecting job for KL people.

Regards.
Yours sincerely.

Good Morning Sir,

I see your interenet again. Just now I also see one internet about our trouble in Sabah. But he is a India people. How come India people also know about we in Sabah. Because we are so far. So much I can not copy to here but I just copy this small part for you to see........Name:Benjamin Madison
In the profile photo I am the figure wearing the red turban. The photo was taken during Diwali 1993 in a 2,000 year old village named Kanasiya, in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Most people are vaguely aware of street children in this or that country but few people are aware of the global extent of this phenomenon. There are 150,000,000 children living in the streets with no adult care or protection. What kind of a society are we when so many of our children live in such misery?

I know what he say about. He say about the children on the road near the fish market in Kota Kinabalu. Also some are near the Medeka Building in KK. I am in KK 20 year ago. I also see this type of small children. Very painfull in my heart. I do not want to tell you the story. You do not believe me. My friend also do not believe me the story.

Regards to you always.
Yours sincerely

Well people, it's great to see that you guys are so concerned about this whole issue here. I WILL get to the bottom of the whole East-West Malaysian issue here in a bit.

So bear with me, as I visit state museums, explore history texts, and dig out internet articles....

First let me catch my breath at work, since it's been a mad-house. Internet should also be connected up at the house soon, cuz blogging after working hours isn't exactly working out... it's already 6pm on a Saturday evening.

*sigh

It's all in the history books. Before agreeing to join Malaysia, both parties agreed that both Sabah and Sarawak would have veto power re immigration rights.I saw that paragraph in some history book a few years back.
