Traffic: Another example of dumb-driving in Korea

Here's a perfect example of dumbness, thanks to my camera being in the car this morning!

Many Korean drivers in Jeollanam-do province have no bloody clue that it is dangerous, and it obstructs traffic when you park way ahead of the stopping line. They just stop there, thinking they can get a head start from everybody else when the lights turn green.

If you want to park like that, you might as well run the RED light!

Here are some other posts I've done on the subject:
  1. Hazard lights will protect you!
  2. Stupid parking habits.
  3. Speeding cameras that don't make sense.
I hate dumb drivers... and it's a struggle everyday getting to work. Argh!

Is this an Asian thing?

Sum has banned me from driving her car to work in the mornings coz I get too worked up with countless dumb-ass drivers who obviously didn't get their licenses the legit way.

Heheh...

You should try driving in Jakarta. There will be at least 1 such dumb ass driver and a huge bunch of dumb ass motorcyclists parking like that when the traffic light is red. I often wonder how much time they can actually save by being ahead of us. The stupidest thing is that because they park infront of the trafic light, they are not aware that the light has turned green and has to be honked before they move. WHAT THE..!!
I blame all this stupidity on the country's corrupt system because none of us can obtain the driver the legit way.

I never run red lights but I know too many ppl who do--whenever they think they can get away with it, which is more often than you think. It *could* be a Malaysian thing.

Well, I don't think it is a Malaysian thing. As Kurios implied, it's a dumbass thing, and they are everywhere.

I know here on the island they installed a bunch of cameras that seemed to have stopped people blatantly running red lights, but as for the dumb-assery in stopping in the middle of the intersection? That continues more-or-less unabated.

Heh. True. Maybe they'd just gotten their licenses or something.
