About me: OK, so my Engrandish sucks rite?

OK, remember how my case officer for the permanent resident requirement me to do an English test? I wrote an appeal, which was rejected, stating reasons of policy.

I then found a clause on the immigration website that states:

"...Any waiver of the test is at the DISCRETION OF YOUR CASE OFFICER."
SECOND letter of appeal!

Response... short and sweet:

Crap la... that means I have to drive all the way to Seoul (5 hours away) on a Saturday for a stupid test that I aced 9 years ago, and pay another ~ USD$180.00. I mean, how in the world does your English language deteriorate with time anyway?

*Grumble grumble grumble... !@#ㄸㅌㅠㅃ他Xガrセア媽U^!@%#$*!!! (Swearing in ALL Asian languages I know...)

I think a TOEFL qualification, once you get it, is only good for 8 years. My sister took hers 5 years ago and in 3 years, her English will be considered 'unqualified' hahaha.

Stupid tests are expensive and a lot of hassle to take. So I don't want to take mine until I abso-freaking-lutely have to.

Fergus/Smash: I'll try and register today and see what goes. Bummer...

Laynie: 8 years?? And yes, it's USD$180 for ONE test. It is kinda painful :(

I've come to the conclusion that the immigration department of every country tries to make as much red tape as possible for every conceivable event/situation.

Good luck.

Wow you got Honors and they asked you to do an IELTS? Must be difficult to get into Australia nowadays. It is a wonderful country to live in though. Good luck with your application.
